Driver in stolen car arrested after I-10 police chase in Gulfport and Biloxi, cops say

A Texas man was arrested after leading Biloxi and Gulfport police on a chase in a stolen pickup truck, Biloxi police said Wednesday night.

Biloxi police responded to a call of a stolen vehicle in the 2100 block of Beach Boulevard at 3:30 p.m. Officers located the red Dodge Ram traveling east on the beachfront highway.

The driver fled when police tried to pull him over, police said.

After a chase that spanned a westbound section of Interstate 10, police were able to stop the vehicle on U.S. 49 near I-10 and Landon Road.

The driver, 34-year-old Michael Lane, was arrested on charges of felony eluding and theft of a motor vehicle.

Lane is held at the Harrison County jail on a $75,000 bond.

The chase briefly closed westbound lanes of I-10 near the 38-mile marker.
