Officers find woman shot near 26th street, Gulfport police say

A woman was shot Friday evening in Gulfport, police said on Twitter.

A report of a shooting came into Gulfport Police Department at 7:08 p.m., the department said in a tweet.

It happened in the 1800 block of 26th Street, a residential road one block north of Pass Road and just south of Brickyard Bayou.

Officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound, and she was transported to a hospital.
