Vancleave woman accused of stabbing father multiple times on July 4, sheriff says

A Vancleave woman is in the Jackson County jail after stabbing her father multiple times on July 4, the sheriff said in a press release.

Hazelon Rich and her father were passengers in a car on Old Fort Bayou Road when the two began to argue, Sheriff Mike Ezell said.

The 58-year-old allegedly pulled out a knife during the argument and stabbed her father. He was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Rich is charged with aggravated domestic assault and was given a $100,000 bond during her initial court appearance Monday.
