Crime

Florida teen hacked celebrities, politicians. Now he’s back in trouble in Biloxi.

A Biloxi man who was living in Florida when he hacked into credit card accounts of celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian, Beyonce and others, is in trouble again, this time in South Mississippi.

A probation officer has filed a petition in federal court in Gulfport to have Luis Flores Jr. sent back to prison for violating the conditions of his probation.

On Jan. 30, 2014, a federal judge sentenced Flores, then 19, to 3 1/2 years in federal prison for credit card theft and aggravated identity theft. The judge also ordered him to serve an additional three years of probation under the supervision of a probation officer.

Under his post-release supervision, Flores was ordered to wear an ankle bracelet to monitor his moves, have a full-time job, pay for his home monitoring service, pay full restitution and perform community service.

But since he got out of prison in 2018 and moved to South Mississippi, Flores has committed a series of probation violations.

Stealing from the stars

Flores, according to court records, has been in and out of trouble with authorities for years. His most noted arrest and conviction came after he stole from celebrities and politicians.

When federal agents in Florida seized a flash drive from Flores, they uncovered a wealth of evidence.

They found Flores had collected personal information, including home addresses and credit reports, of Kardashian and Jenner, as well as that of Paris Hilton, Ashton Kutcher, Beyonce Knowles, Bill Gates and former FBI Director Robert Mueller, according to court records.

The flash drive also had the personal information, including a home address, for former first lady Michelle Obama and former Vice-President Joe Biden.

Flores first got into stealing information and money not long after he started working at an AT&T call center in Orlando and stole from his colleagues.

He was fired from the job, but by then had already started to hacking into the accounts of celebrities.

In just one case, that of Kris Jenner, Flores transferred over $70,000 from one of her account into an account he created for himself.

New violations

Last week, after a probation officer filed a request to revoke his probation, a federal judge in Gulfport ordered Flores held in federal custody pending his revocation hearing, when a judge’s decides whether to send him back to prison.

According to the probation officer’s report, Flores has repeatedly violated the conditions of his supervision by failing to get a job, pay any restitution or fees for monitoring services, and repeatedly lying about his whereabouts.

He’s also been accused of forgery.

In other exhibits filed in the case, it shows Flores repeatedly put down hours for time at Planet Fitness in Biloxi, though the monitoring system couldn’t account for all time he claimed to be there.

In addition, he wrote on his log of activities that he had made various trips to the doctor, a dentist or a therapy session — each for three or four hours at a time — though he failed to provide records to show where he was and the monitoring system did not necessarily confirm his presence at those locations.

In addition, Flores allegedly got involved in more criminal activity when he went to a community corrections center, stole another offender’s information and had $1,400 of the other man’s money transferred to Flores’ account.

When Flores goes back to federal court in Gulfport, he will likely face another prison sentence.
