There’s now a $10,000 reward offered in MS Coast road rage shooting on I-10

In hopes of identifying a suspect, police have released more information on a fatal May 25 road rage shooting near Ocean Springs on Interstate 10.

Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers announced in June a reward of $2,500 will be given to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest.

Crime Stoppers announced Monday that the reward has been upped to $10,000. The person who provides the tip would remain anonymous.

Brandon Box, a 30-year-old man from Gulfport, died in the shooting.

According to a release from Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers, the dispute between two vehicles stretched 17 miles from the 68- and 51-mile markers on westbound Interstate 10.

Police believe the suspect’s vehicle was a small white SUV with a Louisiana tag. Police are unsure how many people were in the suspect’s vehicle, but they say that a woman was driving and a man was in the front seat.

At one point during the dispute on I-10, a firecracker was thrown from the suspect’s vehicle into the bed of the victim’s truck at the foot of the Pascagoula bridge near a rest area.

A 9-millimeter caliber weapon was used in the shooting.
