A stop for gas near Kiln led to police chase with naked man running along the highway

What started as a trip to the gas station for fuel ended with Hancock County sheriff’s deputies arresting two people on drug charges after a foot chase with a man who stripped naked and ran, Chief Deputy Jeremy Skinner said.

Deputies were fueling up at Gator’s gas station on Mississippi 603 on Wednesday afternoon and noticed a man and woman arguing in a car, Skinner said. The business is near Interstate 10 in Hancock County, about 2 miles away from Kiln.

The deputies approached the car to check on the couple, and the woman inside admitted to having marijuana in the car. As law enforcement began a search of the vehicle, Skinner said, the man took off on foot.

As deputies chased the man, who Skinner said appeared to be under the influence of drugs, the suspect began stripping off his clothes.

Deputies had to use a Taser on the man, then naked, to detain him, Skinner said.

The naked man, identified as Ryan Millet, was handcuffed and led back to the gas station by two deputies. Officials collected Millet’s clothes along the way. A passerby recorded video of the incident and posted it to Facebook.

“He was actually caught naked, so that’s how he gets escorted back,” Skinner said, noting deputies had to take precaution after Millet was detained.

Marijuana, THC oil and a half-ounce of meth were found in the vehicle, Skinner said.

Millet, along with passenger Misty Quiroz, were each arrested on a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute and are held at the Hancock County jail.
