Gulfport police arrest 2 in fatal weekend shooting
Gulfport police have arrested two people in connection with a shooting death early Monday morning.
Police had sought Aaron Mays and Gitano Lewis after the fatal shooting at 12:44 a.m. on Memorial Day. It happened at 3318 39th Ave. inn Gulfport.
Gulfport police arrested the two Wednesday. Mays was charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault. His bond was set at $1 million.
Lewis was charged with aggravated assault and accessory after the fact. Her bond was set at $500,000.
Detectives said two people were shot during a fight.
Tremaine Brown, 30, of Gulfport, was taken to a local hospital for emergency surgery and died Monday, said Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer.
Gulfport Police Department thanked the public for coming forward with information about the shooting and D’Iberville Police Department for locating the suspects.
