Drive-by shooting between rival gang members leaves 2 injured, Jackson County sheriff says
A fight that broke out between rival gang members led to a shootout that left two injured and resulted in five arrests since the encounter Saturday night, according to a release from Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell.
The drive-by shooting between gang members happened on McClellan Road, off Washington Avenue, in the St. Martin community, the release said.
The name of gangs involved have not been released.
Those arrested and their charges are:
- Quincy Brown, 22, of Pascagoula, arrested on charges of armed carjacking, aggravated assault and shooting into a motor vehicle. His bond is set at $1.25 million.
- Jimon Dixon, 21, of Biloxi, arrested on charges of armed carjacking, aggravated assault and shooting into a motor vehicle. His bond is set at $1.25 million.
- Jalin Stallworth, 20, of Moss Point, arrested on charges of aggravated and shooting into a motor vehicle. Stallworth was denied bond because he was already out of jail on bond on previous charge of aggravated assault in Moss Point.
- Cedric Porter, 20, of Ocean Springs, arrested on charges of aggravated assault and shooting into a motor vehicle. His bond is set at $75,000. His bond was set at $750,000.
- Tyler Polk, 22, of Biloxi, arrested on charges of aggravated assault and shooting into a motor vehicle. His bond is set at $75,000.
Brown and Dixon both suffered non life-threatening injuries in the shooting, but were treated at Merit Health in Biloxi and released.
The investigation is ongoing and more arrests could follow, Ezell said.
