Coroner identifies 17-year-old killed while playing with gun in Biloxi

A teenager was shot to death in Biloxi after two teens were playing with a gun believed to be unloaded, Biloxi police say.

Just before noon Saturday, officers responded to report of a shooting at a residence in the 200 block of Nixon Street.

Kennedy Delfin, 17, was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound, police said. Delfin was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The victim was hanging out with 15-year-old Bennie Hiep Lu of Biloxi and they two started “playing with a gun” when Bennie pulled the trigger “believing it was unloaded.”

Lu was arrested on a charge of manslaughter.

Justice Court Judge set his bond at $100,000 and Bennie was taken to the Harrison County jail.
