Woman’s body found on George County property, sheriff says. More arrests expected.

A woman was killed Thursday night in the Central community of George County, sheriff’s officials said in a press release.

Around 10:30 p.m., deputies received a call about a possible homicide at a residence in the 100 block of Childress Road.

Deputies searched the property and found the body of woman, sheriff’s officials said, and her identity will be released after the family is notified.

Investigators identified a suspect and found him at a residence in the 1000 block of Old Highway 26.

Justin George Johnson, 44, of Lucedale was arrested on a murder charge and was taken to the George County jail.

He is awaiting initial appearance before a judge.

More arrests are expected, the press release said.
