Owner of Coast tax business filed false returns for her customers, DOJ says
A federal grand jury has indicted a Moss Point woman for filing false tax returns.
Talvesha Glaude is charged with aiding and assisting in the preparation of false tax returns and also filing false personal tax returns.
Glaude owned and operated a tax return preparation business under the names TMG Tax Service and Regional Tax Service, according to Thursday’s announcement from the Department of Justice.
From 2014-19, Glaude allegedly prepared and filed fraudulent tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service, claiming inflated refunds based on false income tax withholdings and education expenses for both herself and customers, the report says.
If convicted, Glaude faces a maximum of three years in prison for each count of the indictment, along with the possibility of supervised release, restitution and a fine.
The announcement was announced Principal Deputy by Richard Zuckerman, assistant attorney general with the Justice Department’s Tax Division, and U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst for the Southern District of Mississippi.
Special agents of IRS Criminal Investigation investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Stan Harris and trial attorney Kevin Schneider of the Tax Division are prosecuting this case.
