Drunk driver crashes into police SUV with Coast cop and K-9 inside, police say
A drunk driver crashed into a Pascagoula police SUV on New Year’s Eve, police say.
A city police officer and his partner, a K-9 named Tony, were struck by a driver under the influence during a patrol shift on New Year’s Eve, according to a Facebook post from the Pascagoula Police Department.
Both officers only received minor injuries, the post said.
The front end of the police SUV was heavily damaged in the wreck,
The uninjured driver was arrested on a DUI charge.
“We cannot stress enough the danger of driving under the influence,” the post said.
