George County man arrested on murder charge in fatal shooting in Central community

A George County man was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in connection with the shooting death of a man at his home in the Central community, George County Sheriff Keith Havard said in a release.

Michael Alex Brock, 62, was arrested shortly after the 1 p.m. shooting Sunday that resulted in the death of 47-year-old James Gregory Adams, 47.

Authorities arrested Brock at a home across the street from the scene.

Information on what might have led to the shooting has not been released.

Brock was arrested without incident and taken to the George County jail.

Judge Jessie Underwood set Brock’s bond at $500,000.
