Stolen guns and electronics recovered after traffic stop in George County
George County Sheriff Keith Havard announced Wednesday that a number of stolen guns and electronics have been recovered and two men are in custody.
Havard said a burglary was reported on Jan. 29. Authorities received a call about a suspicious vehicle on Highway 63 South on Jan. 30 and later made contact with 22-year-old Andrew Phillips in a black Dodge Challenger. Havard said that during the investigation, much of the property that was previously reported stolen was found in the vehicle, which belonged to 28-year-old Brandon Gibson.
Phillips and Gibson are being held at the George County Regional Correctional Facility on charges of burglary of a dwelling and a $10,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with more information is asked to call the George County Sheriff’s Office at 601-947-4811.
