A Biloxi woman serving time on house arrest cut off her ankle monitor band and escaped from supervision, officials say.
Lisa Marie Jones, 38, was serving time on electronic monitoring for a drug possession conviction in Harrison County, according to the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
The last address Jones listed with probation officers was in Biloxi, MDOC Communications Director Grace Fisher said. The broken ankle band was found Friday, she said.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department had arrested Jones on the drug charge in 2005, the county jail docket shows.
A Harrison County Circuit Court judge sentenced Jones to five years of probation and gave her three years of house arrest on Sept. 28, 2017, Fisher said Monday.
Jones could have finished her probation by Sept. 27, 2020, the prison website shows.
MDOT announced her escape in a tweet on Friday. Anyone who knows where she is should contact MDOC at 662-745-6611.
