Have you seen this man? George County inmate escaped Saturday night, sheriff says

George County officials are searching for an inmate who escaped Saturday night.

Eugene Lavon Robinson, 38, escaped from the George County jail around 7:30 p.m., stole a truck and fled the facility in an unknown direction, said a Facebook post from the George County Sheriff’s Office.

Robinson is serving a 30-year sentence for armed robbery.

He was last seen wearing black-and-white prison stripes and driving a champagne-colored 2000 GMC Sonoma extended cab pickup truck with a Green County license plate, officials said.
