A Moss Point woman is in custody after the death of a Pascagoula man, police say

A Pascagoula man is dead after a Moss Point woman stabbed him in a fight, police say.

Moss Point Police Chief Calvin Hutchins said Eddie McCoy, 49, died at Singing River Hospital from a cut to his abdomen.

Hutchins said officers responded to 4600 block of Old Saracenia Road around 7 p.m. Saturday for a report of a stabbing.

Officers found McCoy lying on the floor with injuries, Hutchins said, They also found Haley Turnage, 33, lying on the floor with cuts on her body and a bruise on her face, Hutchins said.

McCoy and Turnage were both taken to the hospital, where McCoy was rushed to surgery but died, Hutchins said.

Turnage declined treatment and police took her into custody.

Police weren’t immediately sure of the motive.

Turnage was not cooperating with investigators after her arrest, Hutchins said.

Police arrested Turnage on a charge of manslaughter.

She is being held under a $100,000 bond at the Jackson County jail awaiting a preliminary hearing before Judge Keith Miller.
