A Long Beach man is accused of stealing a tractor and selling it on an internet site, claiming it was his own.

Long Beach Police Chief Billy Seal said Henry Alex Schepens III, 33, was arrested Friday and charged with grand larceny and false pretense.

According to Seal, Schepens allegedly stole a Kubota tractor. He then claimed it was his while advertising it for sale on an internet sales site.

Seal said the person who bought the tractor, valued at $4,000, suspected it was stolen and contacted police.

The tractor was sold to someone in Diamondhead, Seal said. He could not say what led the buyer to believe it was stolen.

Schepens was taken to the Harrison County jail. Bond was set at $100,000 by Judge Dianne Ladner.
