Woman assaulted in Gulfport neighborhood. Police seek armed men in a gray Ford Taurus.

Two armed men sought in the assault and robbery of a woman may be in a gray Ford Taurus they stole after taking the woman’s car, police said.

The 29-year-old woman reported she didn’t know the men who went in her apartment after she answered a knock on her door, Gulfport Police Sgt. Clayton Fulks said.

The men stole items including the keys to her car, and drove off in her vehicle, Fulks said.

Police were notified about 9:55 a.m. Tuesday and went to the 3300 block of 39th Avenue, he said. The neighborhood is just south of 31st Street.

The woman reported the men had handguns and took her 2006 gray Ford Taurus.

The license plate number is MNS482. If anyone sees the car, they should call police but not approach the vehicle, Fulks said.

The incident left the woman with injuries that were not life-threatening. She was taken to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport for treatment.
