Two people wounded in a shooting and a third person injured in a related crash are in stable condition, Police Chief Gary Ponthieux said Monday.

All three involved in the incidents on Sunday know each other, said Ponthieux, who declined to discuss possible motives.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting and crash, reported about 2:56 p.m. Sunday.

Police were responding to a report of a shooting a few blocks from the beach when officers found a crashed vehicle occupied by two gunshot victims on Sycamore Street.

They were in a van that had come to rest in the front yard of a home.

Nearby, officers found a person who had been struck by a vehicle on nearby Francis Street.

All three were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Investigators have questioned those involved, Ponthieux said.

The investigation continues, he said.
