An employee of Treasure Bay Casino turned herself in on an embezzlement charge after learning of a warrant for her arrest, an official said.

Agents with the Mississippi Gaming Commission arrested Andrea Denise Simmons, 27, on Tuesday.

Money went missing while she was a cashier in the cage area, said Dave Kingman, enforcement agent director of the MGC district office in Biloxi.

Treasure Bay alerted a gaming investigator, who obtained a warrant for Simmon’s arrest, Kingman said.

He didn’t release details on the amount of involved or the time frame in which it went missing.

Simmons was released from the Harrison County jail later Tuesday on a $5,000 bond.
