More than a dozen street-level drug offenders arrested in undercover probe, sheriff says

Narcotics agents hits the streets early Thursday to round up 29 street-level drug offenders accused of peddling meth, crack cocaine and opioids, George County Sheriff Keith Havard said.

Agents with the Southeast Mississippi Narcotics Task Force began arresting people around 6 a.m. The majority of people are facing felony charges for drug possession or sales.

The arrests are a result of anight-month undercover operation.

Those arrested so far are:

  • Donzell “Shipyard” Williams: two counts sale of meth
  • Courtney Hickey: one count sale of meth
  • Bryan “Pooh Pie” Bracks: two counts sale of meth
  • Jennifer Herrington: two counts sale of meth
  • Adrianne Breland: one count sale of the prescription attention deficit disorder drug, Adderall
  • Darrell “Straight Cash” Williams: one count sale of crack cocaine within 1,500 feet of a church
  • Demetrius “Tron” Spivery: one count sale of crack cocaine within 1,500 feet of a church
  • Beverly McDowell: one count sale of meth
  • Roy Griffin: two counts of sale of meth
  • Kendrick Booker: one count sale of meth, one count sale of meth within 1,500 feet of a park
  • Tyler Davis: one count sale of meth within 1,500 feet of a church
  • Nichole Hayes: two counts sale of a crack cocaine
  • Monitte Henderson: one count sale of meth
  • Clarrisa “Rere” Blackston: one count sale of meth
  • Walter Dortch: one count sale of meth within 1,500 feet of a park
  • Christopher Brian Shoemaker : one count sale of meth
  • Michael Shane Smith: two counts sale of meth
  • Ben Cooley: one count possession of meth
  • Harvey Louis Vise: possession of meth

Additional arrests are pending for the following people:

  • Alex Rooney: one count sale of a Ecstasy
  • Wendy Pitts: one count sale of oxycodone, one cont sale of hydrocodone within 1,500 feet of a church
  • Andre “Dre” Gaines II: two counts sale of meth
  • Shannon Marie Allgood: one count sale of meth
  • Catherine Deckard: one count sale of meth
  • Terry “GP” Ross: two counts sale of crack cocaine aka
  • Georgette Riley: two counts sale of crack cocaine
  • Derrick “Twin” Hilton: two counts sale of meth within 1,500 feet of a school
  • Beverly Shantil Spivery: one count sale of crack cocaine within 1500ft of a church
  • Monica Riley: one count sale of meth
  • Stephen Newell: one count sale of meth within 1,500 feet of a park
  • Chris Howard: two counts sale of meth
  • John Nix: one count possession of marijuana
  • Mason McCarty: one count possession of meth
  • Kellen Hopkins: one count possession of meth
  • Kim Cowart: one count possession of meth

Havard helped spearhead the operation in conjunction with Greene County Sheriff Stanley McLeod and Lucedale Police Chief Kevin Fairley. The FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Border Enforcement Security Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations also assisted in the investigation and round-up Thursday.

“We formed the Southeast Mississippi Narcotics Task Force to combat local drug issues we have in our communities and we will continue to work vigorously on this problem,” Havard said. The arrests so far Thursday, he said, had gone smoothly without any resistance from the suspects.
