Deputies arrested a 34-year-old man after he duct-taped his girlfriend and assaulted her, Sheriff Troy Peterson said.

Terrance Lee Dorsey, of Pass Christian, was hiding under a bed when deputies forced their way inside his home on Elmer Ladner Road on Monday morning, Peterson said.

Deputies arrested Dorsey on charges of kidnapping and aggravated domestic assault.

The woman told investigators Dorsey assaulted her, strangled her and bound her, but she was able to get her hands free and call 911, Peterson said.

The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment and has been released.

Dorsey was booked at the Harrison County jail, where his bonds total $200,000.

Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner set Dorsey’s bonds at a total of $150,000 on the kidnapping and assault charges.

Dorsey also was wanted on an outstanding warrant on a charge of burglary of a shed, also in Harrison County. Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray set that bond at $50,000 when he signed the arrest warrant earlier this month, Peterson said.
