He called 911 from a Bay St. Louis bar, but he was the one who went to jail, chief says
A man who called 911 from a bar has been arrested on a charge of impersonating a police officer, Police Chief Gary Ponthieux said.
Raymond Joseph Klein, 67, of Bay St. Louis made the call from the Third Base Bar & Grill late Saturday night, Ponthieux said.
The police chief did not say why Klein called 911.
A bar representative told the Sun Herald that Klein claimed he was being harassed, but a review of the bar’s surveillance footage and patrons’ comments showed no harassment.
Klein was booked at the Hancock County jail early Sunday and was released two days later. He was given an indigent bond, meaning he was released with no bond.
He is set for a Nov. 10 court date.
