He forced his way into a Bay home and fell asleep once inside, police chief says
A Waveland man forced his way inside a Bay St. Louis home and fell asleep — until the homeowner found him, Police Chief Gary Ponthieux said.
Robert Theodore Avrad, 37, broke in at a home in the 800 block of Washington Street, where the homeowner called police about 10 p.m. Saturday to report he was holding a burglar, Ponthieux said.
Police arrived and arrested Avrad on a home burglary charge and misdemeanor charges of trespassing and petit larceny.
Avrad’s bond on the felony has been set at $50,000. He remained at the Hancock County jail on Tuesday.
The misdemeanors carry bonds that total $1,500.
Avrad has a Nov. 10 court date, the jail docket shows.
