Police say a stabbing at the Scarlet Pearl Casino buffet injured one man and led to a Gulfport man’s arrest.

Police arrested Eddie Joseph Parish after he fled the scene Sunday night, D’Iberville Police Lt. Jason King said.

American Medical Response took the wounded man to a hospital. His condition was not life-threatening.

Parish knows the man, who is also from Gulfport, only as an acquaintance and they were not at the Scarlet Pearl together, King said.

The reason for the argument is unclear, he said.

Casino security called police about 6:33 p.m. Sunday to report a disturbance between two men at the buffet. While police were on the way, they were notified an argument turned physical when one of them pulled out a knife and stabbed the other man in his shoulder, King said.

Parish later turned himself in at the D’Iberville Police Department.

Police took him to the Harrison County jail, where he was booked on a charge of aggravated assault early Monday morning.

Parish was released from jail on a $50,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.
