$10,000 in merchandise stolen from casino gift shop. Police say woman had accomplice.
A 24-year-old woman embezzled $10,000 in merchandise from a gift shop at the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort while she was working there as a clerk, Police Lt. Jason King said.
Police arrested D’Iberville resident Carly Marissa Richardson on Thursday after investigating a complaint from casino security personnel, King said.
The merchandise went missing between Aug. 11 and Aug. 28, he said.
Stolen items include clothing, King said.
Investigators believe Richardson had an accomplice. King said another arrest is expected.
Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain signed an arrest warrant and set a $25,000 bond.
Richardson was booked at the Harrison County jail and was released on bond.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the D’Iberville Police Department at 228-396-4252.
