A motorcycle stolen from a Kiln woman’s home turned up in a traffic stop in Pearl River County.

The woman had reported the theft of a 2007 Honda CBR 1000 from in front of her home on Wanda Circle on June 15, Hancock County Sheriff’s Investigator William Reid said.

Joshua Evert, 35, of Picayune, was driving the motorcycle the next day in Pearl River County when he was pulled over on a traffic stop, Reid said. The tag number showed up as stolen.

Evert was arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property in Pearl River County. He was held at the Pearl River County jail until he was taken to the Hancock County jail Monday with an arrest warrant on a grand larceny charge.

Hancock County investigators had interviewed Evert at the Pearl River County jail. Evert confessed to stealing the motorcycle and a few items such as watches that were outside the house, Reid said.

Evert’s bond on the grand larceny charge is $15,000.

The motorcycle has been returned to its owner, Reid said.
