Coroner identifies homeless man stabbed to death in Biloxi
The Harrison County coroner identified a man who died Thursday after he was stabbed near a bus stop in Biloxi.
Jared Douglas, 24, died from a stab wound at Merit Health in Biloxi, Coroner Gary Hargrove said on Friday.
Douglas, who is homeless, got into an argument with Christopher Byas in the 2000 block of Pass Road. When the argument got physical, Biloxi Police Lt. Chris De Back said Byas stabbed Douglas multiple times.
Byas, 41, is also homeless.
Hargrove said Douglas is from Kosciusko, Mississippi, but has been in Biloxi for some time.
The stabbing occurred on Pass Road across the street from the Coast Transit Authority bus stop, which is in front of the Neighborhood Walmart by Tara Lane. The men were near the library and Blair Mobile Home Park.
