$1 million bond for man arrested after fatal stabbing in Biloxi, police say

A man is behind bars Thursday night after a man who was stabbed in an area close to the West Biloxi Library died from his wounds, Biloxi police said.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at an area hospital shortly after police were called to the 2000 block of Pass Road after a report of a stabbing.

Officers responded at 6:12 p.m. and found a man with a stab wound, said police Lt. Chris De Back.

Police said Christopher Maurce Byas, 41, stabbed the victim during an altercation.

Byas was arrested on a manslaughter charge and taken to the Harrison County jail.

Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set bond for Byas at $1 million dollars.
