Police arrest 1 teen wanted after Gulfport shooting. Another teen is still at large.

John Michael Heflin, 18, has been arrested on an aggravated assault charge in connection with a shooting Friday night at the Goldin Park Sports Complex, police say.

The Gautier Police Department arrested Heflin late Monday morning, according to a release from the Gulfport Police Department.

Heflin is held at the Harrison County jail on a $250,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner.

A second suspect, Briceton John Lewis Fairley, also 18, is still at large, the news release says.

Police believe Fairley could be armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about Fairley is asked to contact the Gulfport Police Department at 228-868-5959 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898. Tips can also be submitted online to Crime Stoppers.

Police are still investigating a motive for the shooting. Injuries were not life-threatening to the 16-year-old who was shot, police say.
