A 22-year-old Saucier man was being held on a $35,000 bond on a charge alleging he got in a fight with a woman and strangled her, an investigator said.
Michael Dean Howard held the woman down on a bed and started strangling her, and then went outside and damaged her car by hitting it with his fist, Harrison County Sheriff’s Lt. Coley Judy said.
Deputies arrested Howard on a charge of aggravated domestic assault on Sunday.
Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner set Howard’s bond.
Howard was being held at the county jail with no bond on an unrelated matter. He also was arrested Sunday on a probation warrant involving a misdemeanor conviction on simple assault, the jail docket shows. He was convicted on the simple assault charge in justice court after his arrest on March 13, 2016.
Howard also was arrested on a contempt charge in 2015 for failing to appear in court on an arrest from 2014.
