Police are trying to find two 18-year-olds who are wanted in connection with a Friday night shooting at a popular sports complex.

John Michael Heflin and Briceston John Lewis Fairley, both 18, are suspected of shooting a 16-year-old Thursday evening at Goldin Sports Complex in Orange Grove, said Gulfport police Sgt. Joshua Bromen.

Police have warrants for the arrests of the teens and are asking for the public’s help in finding them. The teenagers are considered armed and dangerous, a news release from the police department says, and the motive remains unclear.

The victim was shot near the basketball courts, and is expected to recover, Bromen said.

Anyone with information about the teens’ whereabouts can contact the police department at 228-868-5989 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898. Anonymous tips can be submitted on the Crime Stoppers website.
