Bank robbery suspects’ pictures released after holdup in Long Beach

One young man held a gun on a bank teller Wednesday while a second young man held a gun on the bank’s manager during an armed robbery at The First, Police Chief Wayne McDowell said.

No one was injured, but police want the public’s help to identify the armed men who robbed the bank at Klondyke and Pineville roads about 11:48 a.m.

Police have released surveillance pictures of two men who headed east on Old Pass Road in a silver, four-door Hyundai.

Both men are believed to be in their 20s and 5 feet 6 inches tall.

Investigators from Hammond, Louisiana, went to the bank because two armed men robbed First Bank & Trust in that city Tuesday at 11:40 a.m., a Hammond city official said.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department sent officers to assist in the manhunt. Gulfport Police units were stationed along U.S. 90 heading into Long Beach.
