He wasn’t home when sheriff’s deputies took about 60 pot plants from his shed

A Bay St. Louis man was arrested Monday on drug charges after sheriff’s deputies say they found a marijuana grow home at his residence.

The Sea Coast Echo reports Wayne Slusser, 39, was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to distribute or sell. He was released from the Hancock County Jail on Monday.

Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam told the Sea Coast Echo the arrest stemmed from a tip deputies had received about someone growing marijuana at a residence on Granada Street in Bayside Park. Slusser was not at the home when deputies went to investigate.

“They noticed that a door to a shed was open,” Adam told the Sea Coast Echo. “When they opened the door, they discovered an active marijuana grow.”

About 60 3- to 4-inch tall marijuana plants were confiscated from the property.
