A man crashed into a vehicle head-on after being upset because his uncle had “got the best of him” in a fight, police said.

Alex Kelly Gadson and his uncle, David Gillard, had fought at a home on Trailwood Drive, said Pascagoula police Capt. Doug Adams.

Gillard and a woman, Alicia Joe, then left the house and Gadson chased after them from Trailwood to Robinhood Drive. There, Joe said she put her car in reverse and saw Gadson speeding and drive straight at her, Adams said.

Joe and Gillard were nearing the intersection of Robinhood and Old Mobile Highway when the crash occurred about 11:35 p.m., Adams said.

Police arrested Gadson, 38, Sunday on charges of aggravated assault, malicious mischief and DUI after the crash Saturday night.

Joe had minor injuries, Adams said, and both vehicles had heavy damage and were not drivable.

Gadson was being held on $5,000 bond at the Jackson County jail after an initial court hearing. The aggravated assault charge alleges Gadson used his vehicle as a weapon.

The felony malicious mischief charges involves property damages in excess of $1,000.
