A 23-year-old Pearl River County man has admitted having sexually explicit images of children younger than 8 years old on his computer.
Darryl Warner III, of Poplarville, pleaded guilty Monday to exploitation of a child, the state’s charge for child pornography. He faces up to 40 years in prison.
Attorney General Jim Hood announced the plea in a news release.
Warner, originally from Picayune, pleaded guilty in Pearl River County Circuit Court before Judge Claiborne McDonald.
The judge will sentence Warner on Aug. 11.
An investigator with the attorney general’s Cyber Crime Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Warner on April 5, 2016, Hood said. The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and the Picayune Police Department assisted.
Special Assistant AG Brandon Ogburn is prosecuting the case.
