Shots fired at home in Broadmoor neighborhood, but no injuries were reported

Shots were fired into a home on Wanda Place in the Broadmoor neighborhood early Wednesday during an argument among people who were in the street, police said.

The shooting was reported at 12:02 a.m., Gulfport Police Sgt. Joshua Bromen said.

Police believe people who were in the street were arguing and started shooting at each other, and that’s how stray rounds struck the house, Bromen said.

“The argument didn’t involve the people in the house,” he said. “They just happened to be home.”

“Nobody has made any reports of being wounded by gunfire. Our officers have already checked local hospitals, which is standard procedure. And the hospitals are required to notify us if someone shows up with a gunshot wound.”

The residents in their home were not injured, he said.

Police are looking into some leads but want the public’s help to identify the suspects and locate them.

No motive was immediately available.
