A man who was found dead in a motel room apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot, Moss Point Interim Police Chief Brandon Ashley said.
An employee from a nearby business said crime scene tape was placed outside one of the rooms at the motel Wednesday morning.
Jackson County Chief Deputy Coroner Jason Moody said the office had received a call that there had been a death at the motel.
“We have a death that is not suspicious at the moment,” Moody said. “He was found behind his car in the Days Inn parking lot about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.
