On the seventh day of the trial of the man accused in the shooting death of New Orleans Saints football player Will Smith, reporters from The New Orleans Advocate are tweeting live from the courtroom.

On the night he was killed and Cardell Hayes was arrested, Smith was shot eight times, seven of which were to the back. Racquel Smith, his wife, was wounded by one bullet that struck both of her legs.
