Body found at Mobile cemetery prompts homicide investigation

Mobile police are investigating a homicide involving the body of a man found at the historic Church Street Graveyard.

The Press-Register reports officers responded to a report of a person down at about 7:17 a.m. Thursday and found the body.

Police have not released the cause of death or identified the victim.

The case is Mobile’s 37th homicide this year. Thirteen of those deaths occurred in October.
