2 deputies indicted after sex with inmates, Jackson County sheriff says

A grand jury indicted two former deputies Mondaywho allegedly had unlawful sexual relationships with inmates while working at the Jackson County jail.

Former deputies Bradley Scott Davis, 36, of Moss Point, and Johnathan Jenkins, 33, of Indianola, each face a charge of unlawful sexual activity, Sheriff Mike Ezell said.

Davis had an inappropriate relationship with a female inmate during a two-week period in June, and Jenkins had an inappropriate relationship with a female inmate for two days in September, Ezell said in a press release.

Both men were working as corrections officers at the jail during those times.

Deputies arrested Davis Monday night, and Jenkins turned himself in Tuesday morning. They were booked into the Jackson County jail and later released on bonds of $10,000 each.

Ezell said Davis had worked with the department for 11 years.
