A man faces a felony charge for striking a sleeping woman in the head with a 32-ounce beer bottle, requiring six staples in her head, a criminal investigator said.

Carlos Lamenz Lee, 36, of 28th Street in Long Beach, was arrested Saturday morning on a charge of aggravated domestic assault.

The woman told investigators she was asleep when Lee woke her up by striking her in the top part of her head with a glass beer bottle, Sheriff’s Lt. Coley Judy said.

Lee ran out and left on foot but was taken into custody with the help of a witness, he said.

The woman was taken to Garden Park Medical Center for treatment of a cut on the right upper part of her head, Judy said. The woman has been released from the hospital.

Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner set a $175,000 bond with conditions pending an initial court appearance.

Lee remained at the Harrison County jail on Monday.
