A fight over tools between two Pass Christian neighbors resulted in one man shooting and wounding the other, Sheriff’s Lt. Coley Judy said.

The wounded man was shot in the hip Thursday at a residence on Faye Road. The rural neighborhood is near Kiln-DeLisle Road.

Deputies arrested Travis Lee Farthing, 33, on a charge of aggravated assault.

Both neighbors live in the 29300 block of Faye.

Witnesses told deputies Farthing and the other man argued and were fighting when Farthing pulled out a handgun and shot the man, Judy said.

The wounded man was taken to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport, where his condition was listed as stable, Judy said.

Farthing was booked at the Harrison County jail on Friday.

Justice Court Judge Brandon Ladner set bond at $200,000 pending an initial court appearance.
