Financial planner pleads not guilty in $519K wire fraud case

Thomas “Lenny” Lepre, a financial planner at a Gautier business, has pleaded not guilty in a federal wire fraud case said to involve about $519,000.

He is free on bond and set for trial on a court calendar that starts Nov. 7.

A five-count indictment alleges he defrauded investors in Harrison and Jackson counties from December 2012 through July 14, through his work with the Alternative Financing Group. He also is accused of wiring money in 2013 from outside of Mississippi to a bank account at Wells Fargo in Ocean Springs, the indictment says.

Lepre is a managing partner of the commercial financing business, which he helped form in February 2012.

Lepre was arraigned Sept. 22.

The case is assigned to U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden.
