Police say they ordered beignets and left with stolen cash
Four people with a craving for beignets hit up an iconic French Quarter spot and walked away with stolen cash, New Orleans police said.
Shortly before 5:30 a.m. Monday, four people entered Café Du Monde at 800 Decatur Street and ordered beignets, the New Orleans Police Department said in a news release. Surveillance video captured a man in a red baseball cap taking money from behind the counter, police said.
Three others with him, two women and a man, witnessed the theft before leaving together, police said.
