The new Starbucks in Ocean Springs will be open for the Labor Day weekend beginning at 5 a.m. Friday.
But on Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m., the store will hold a Friends & Family event and offer free drinks.
The manager said there will be a full drink menu available, and the staff also will collect donations for flood victims in Louisiana during the event.
The Ocean Springs Starbucks has had a “now hiring” sign out for more than a week and the manager said they have hired 20 staffers so far. She said they are looking to hire possibly three more.

The manager, with seven years of experience with Starbucks around the country, said she was very pleased with the quality of staff she has been able to hire.
On Wednesday, inside and outside, it looked like the last-minute details of the coffee shop were still coming together with employees bustling.
The city has been watching the familiar features of a Starbucks take shape over the past several months. The manager said she can tell excitement has been building in the city, because she’s been getting emails asking about the opening.
An employee of Elite Construction, of Lexington, Ga., said it took the company 35 days to complete the interior.
