Ocean Springs Live will salute the blues in August
Ocean Springs will pay homage to the blues in August.
The third edition of Ocean Springs Live will kickoff Saturday, Aug. 6 with a tribute to International Blues Day. The show is free and it gets under way at 4 p.m. in Rosetti Park in Downtown Ocean Springs.
The August lineup includes Meridian native Jamell Richardson.
Richardson played James Brown’s guitarist Jimmy Nolen in the Mick Jagger-produced film “Get on Up.”
Joining Richardson will be blues artist Jonathan “Boogie” Long from Baton Rouge. Richardson was named Guitar Center’s “King of the Blues” in 2011 and he has opened for BB King.
Also on the bill will be students from the Rock U2 Music Academy and Blackwater Brass.
