Pascagoula Police confirm explosion at BP gas plant

Pascagoula police said an explosion occurred at the BP Gas Plant on Stennis Boulevard on Monday night.

The fire was quickly contained to the building and did not spread by early Tuesday morning, police said.

Police said there would be no evacuations, and no injuries were reported.

Jackson County Emergency Operations Manager Earl Etheridge said emergency crews were on scene, battling the blaze through the night and into Tuesday.
