Official: Man found in Gulf Hills pond died of drowning

JACKSON COUNTY -- An autopsy has confirmed a man found dead in a pond drowned at a Gulf Hills apartment complex.

The manner in which he died is still under investigation, deputy coroner Jason Moody said.

The man's name is being withheld until his family can be notified.

Maintenance workers found him about 11:30 a.m. Monday.

The complex is off Washington Avenue just north of Ocean Springs.
